Welcome to Paperback Writer.
Would you share with us how you came up with the idea for your book?
Yes, I had recorded a series of cd’s on the choices we make in life, example Attitude Is A Choice, Communication is a Choice and I started thinking it would make a great series because there are so many choices we all have to make and our choices determine our success. Then I started looking for examples of choices that people made and as I interviewed people, I realized they should be writing their own stories, so I decided to put their stories together and publish it.
Was it a light bulb moment or something that you thought about for a very long time?
It was definitely a light bulb!
How did you come up with the title?
The title came as a result of looking at the various choices people have made throughout their lives. It just made sense to use “Life Choices.”
How did you find an agent and publisher?
This time, I published it myself. And now that I’ve done it, I’ll do it again.
Who reads you work in progress?
I work with an editor, Jami Carpenter, from Bend, Oregon.
Who made a difference in the book’s quality?
The authors stories are so touching they reach into the readers heart. The stories are the quality. Then there is the great paper and the beautiful cover designed by Julia Lauer at Ambush Graphics in Tucson.
How long did it take you to complete the first draft?
How long did it take from start to publication?
Do you have any advice for new authors?
