Gary Morgenstein, author of the relationship book, How to Find a Woman…Or Not! Is with us today and he answers some questions of How To Find a Woman. He gives us inside information on what the dating world is like and that we can all find our soul-mate.
About the Book:
Tired of ordering in Thai food and watching a Netflix on Saturday nights? Don’t despair. Finding true love isn’t impossible as long as you view the entire world as one big singles bar. Walking your dog, practicing yoga, riding mass transit, buying a book, even visiting a friend in the hospital can lead to the woman of your dreams. Critically-acclaimed novelist/playwright Gary Morgenstein provides the romantic roadmap! Using his own battle-scarred experiences as a divorced man along with many years “spinning” as a public relations specialist, Morgenstein takes men (and women eager to go inside the mind of a guy) on a step-by-step comic and erotic guide to love and sex. From making eye contact, dazzling opening lines, online etiquette, younger and older women and how to conduct yourself on a date to what goes into a successful relationship (in and out of the bedroom), How to Find a Woman…Or Not is a riotous, poignant and indispensable blueprint for passion and commitment.
Hi Gary Morgenstein, How to Find a Woman…Or Not.
Welcome to Paperback Writer.
Thanks for having me.
Q: Would you share with us how you came up with the idea for your book?
A: I was having dinner with a couple writer friends of mine, whining about my latest dating debacle, when they said, “Why don’t you write a book about all this?” Bingo. Instead of the conventional dating book, I transform Planet Earth into one singles bar. You can meet your soul mate anywhere – from the gym, Laundromat, grocery and book stores, even your dentist’s office. I provide talking points, dos and don’ts and Morgy Rules!
Q: Was it a light bulb moment or something that you thought about for a very long time?
A: In my novel “Loving Rabbi Thalia Kleinman,” I explored romance through the story of a divorced man who falls madly in love with a beautiful woman rabbi. This was a natural evolution, trying to use all my experiences and insights to help people, both men and women.
Q: How did you come up with the title?
A: Over dinner that night, somewhere between rounds of Stoly. I kinda liked the humorous ambivalence of it, don’t you?
Q: How did you find an agent and publisher?
A: I’m happily published through Times Square Press, Elite Associates and Amazon.com.
Q: Who reads your work in progress?
A I have several friends whose opinion I trust and who I trust not to blab about my book to anyone else!
Q: Who made a difference in the book’s quality?
A: That wondrous creature from the Great Beyond who visits writers and whispers inspiration into their ears. That and blood, toil, tears and sweat.
Q: How long did it take you to complete the first draft?
A: Three months.
Q: How long did it take from start to publication?
A: Six months.
Q: Do you have any advice for new authors?
A: Be true to yourself. Write what you know and feel. If you are dishonest, the reader will bust you!
