Reasons Why People Don’t Read

How many books have you read this year? Do you remember the last book you read and what it was about? If you asked yourself or even your friends would any of their answers match the ones in this list?     I'm Addicted to the television. I read all my text messages on my cell phone. It's easier to search for a movie, then searching for a book. I have to much else to do and I don't like sitting still. I am a very slow reader and I don't like looking up words in the dictionary. Reading a book without pictures is no fun. Reading reminds me of when I was in school and I couldn't wait to get out of there. I have a small place and there is no room for books. A former Baltimore cop, who watched his partner die in the line of business, and feeling partly responsible for his death takes a job as chief of police in a town in Alaska. While creating a life for himself he meets many fine townspeople and falls in love with Meg Gallawoy, a hard headed young woman who is more comfortable doing things her own way. Nestled in this small Alaskan town of Lunacy, where

At first when you hear it, it sounds like glass crunching under boots, crunch, crunch, crunch, only it doesn't go away and you fear the worst. Then it stops and you breathe a sigh of relief.
