Seven Random Things about Murder in the Worst Degree

Murder in the Worst Degree Marilyn M
I had the title before I knew what the plot was going to be. A friend said, “Why don’t you call your next Rocky Bluff P.D. mystery, Murder in the Worst Degree?” I thought that was a terrific title. Of course when I sat down to write the book, I had no idea where I was going with it. I really wasn’t sure if I’d done that until I got near the end.    Because my series is based on the men and women in the police department, there must be more than one crime. Besides the murder, there’s also a rapist on the loose, and a couple of burglaries. And of course, you’ll also learn about

Thy Will Be Done
[caption id="attachment_2685" align="alignright" width="200"] Thy Will Be Done[/caption] About the book: The world cries out for an imaginative but realistic Biblical guide to the life foreshadowed in Christ’s model prayer. No foolish utopia, here is a powerful, comprehensive portrait of a sinful world redeemed and transformed by Christ—including the tools needed to hasten the day.   The author weaves a tapestry of possibility–Christ’s people growing as salt and light, putting flesh on the Bible’s vision of blessing in every aspect of human life and endeavor, bringing joy to all peoples and glory to the One who came to save the world. “Ron Kirk comprehensively applies the Lordship of Christ to all areas of life” (Peter Hammond, The Reformation Society, South Africa).   Purchasing information:   Nordskog Publishing: http://www.nordskogpublishing.com/book-thy-will-be-done.shtml Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Thy-Will-Be-Done-Blessed/dp/0988297655/   Book excerpt:   Jesus said we know a tree by its fruit. You Have How Many Christmas Trees?

A Christmas Kindness
Christmas is such a magical time of year. What's your favorite part about the season? You Have How Many Christmas Trees? By C. C. Gevry   [caption id="attachment_2681" align="alignright" width="193"] A Christmas Kindness[/caption] When someone asks me what my favorite part of the Christmas season is, I easily admit spending time with my family. People are busy, and our family is no exception. So, taking time around the holidays to catch up with everyone is a wonderful thing. But what I really love most is decorating. At one point, I had as many as 10 Christmas trees here. Most of them have themes: snowmen, collectible ornaments, handmade ornaments, angels, toys, and snowflakes and icicles. Some are fiber optic. Our girls each have a tree for their bedrooms: one pink, one purple. Decorating begins the week before Thanksgiving. My goal is to have the house ready for when family arrives on

Seven Things about Journey to Galumphagos

Journey to Galumphagos
[caption id="attachment_2659" align="alignright" width="200"] Journey to Galumphagos[/caption] 7.    Journey to Galumphagos began as a picture book for my children to illustrate.  It took a quarter century for it to evolve into the published book. 6.    My favorite, non-human character is the Great Galumphagos Island Turtle.  I imagine her sounding like Emma Thompson. 5.    The part of the book I’m proudest of is Chapter 11.  Four or five sets of action are going on at the same time.  It was a challenge to navigate through all that without losing my way or my readers.  And I know I didn’t lose my readers because all the kids who have read the book told me it was their favorite part. 4.    Ellen Maze did a wonderful job on the illustrations.  She’s a joy to work with, a great collaborator, passionate about getting from whatever picture the writer has in his or her mind

The Story Behind Break the Chains

Break the Chains Book Tour
[caption id="attachment_2653" align="alignright" width="150"] Break the Chains Book Tour[/caption]  If you were abused over and over again, would you become an abuser? Or would you learn to forgive? Dr. Jay Roberts had to go to prison to learn the answer.   About Break the Chains   In 1999 Dr. Roberts was in at-home hospice care preparing for his own death from a neurological disease. At the point where he finally gave up, he experienced a spontaneous, overnight healing. It was not the first time he had “cheated” death. He had survived a fifty-foot fall from a cliff, a plane crash, and attempts on his life by rebel insurgents in remote areas in the Philippines in 1970s. This near-death escape was different though, because it was the culmination of a turbulent lifelong dialogue with God which started when he was a child being bull-whipped by his alcoholic father. Yet even
